Former Arrested Development star Jason Bateman takes the August 2009 cover of Details, on stands next week. He opens up about overcoming drug use and resurrecting his career.
On stopping his drug use: “Booze was what would make me want to stay out all night and do some blow or smoke a joint or whatever, so shutting that off was key. It’s like ketchup and French fries – I don’t want one without the other. So that’s the moment: Do you want to continue to be great at being in your twenties, or do you want to step up and graduate into adulthood?”
On his partying ways: “It was like Risky Business for 10 years. My parents were out of town, they left me a bunch of money, the car, and the house, and I didn’t know when they were coming home. I’d worked so hard that by the time I was 20, I wanted to play hard. And I did that really well.”
His The Baster co-star Jennifer Aniston also had a few words to say about Jason: “Even though he was pretty wild in those days, something about those dimples and that sweet face made you go, ‘Oh, it’s okay that you just drove up the street backwards in a Range Rover with the door wide open.’ I don’t know what was happening there. You feel instantly safe in his company.”

Tuesday’s Michael Jackson Memorial Service garnered an impressive 31.1 million viewers, but fell behind the 2004 burial of Ronald Reagan (35.1 million) and the 1997 funeral of Princess Diana (33.3 million).

Rachel Weisz doesn’t dig the frozen faces of Hollywood, she tells the August 2009 issue of UK’s Harper’s Bazaar (via Fox News).
“It should be banned for actors, as steroids are for sportsmen,” the 39-year-old British actress says of Botox. “Acting is all about expression; why would you want to iron out a frown?”
As for fashion, Rachel says, “I love the way girls in London dress; it’s so different to the American ‘blow-dry and immaculate grooming’ thing.”

On her famous nude scenes in The Reader: “If people are noticing my boobs in a movie and saying they do what real boobs do, then that’s great. I’ll be 34 in October. I can’t keep getting away with it. There was so much of it in The Reader because the story required it, but people have seen enough of my bum and my boobs. I have to put them back.”
On having a good reputation: “When everyone was out getting plastered, I didn’t do all of that. I was working. I was doing life. Now that I look back, I feel very lucky. I’ve never taken drugs, never been offered cocaine.”

Michael, 50, died at UCLA Medical Center after going into cardiac arrest at his rented home on June 25 in Los Angeles.

Oscar winner Karl Malden has died at his home in Brentwood, Los Angeles, three years shy of his 100th birthday. The Streets of San Francisco star was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1912 and raised in Gary, Indiana - coincidentally the birthplace of Michael Jackson, who died last week.
A former steelworker and teacher, Malden studied acting at the Goodman Theater Dramatic School in Chicago and chose to take his talents to New York, where he became involved with the fabled Group Theater.
He made his stage debut in 1937 and struck up a theatrical partnership with legendary director Elia Kazan, who cast Malden in a host of successful Broadway shows.
After serving in World War Two, the actor landed his big movie break in 1940's They Knew What They Wanted and he quickly became an in-demand film star, winning an Oscar for his performance as Mitch in A Streetcar Named Desire in 1951.
He also landed roles in classics like On the Waterfront and Baby Doll.
Malden became a household name in America when he teamed up with Michael Douglas in TV cop drama The Streets of San Francisco in the early 1970s.
He also became the pitchman for American Express - a position he held for 21 years.
In 1988, he was elected President of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences - a title he held for five years.
Malden's memoir is called When Do I Start?: A Memoir.
As well as his Best Supporting Actor Oscar win in 1951, the actor also claimed an Outstanding Supporting Actor Emmy in 1985 for the TV series Fatal Vision.
Malden was honoured with Life Achievement Awards at the Temecula Valley International Film Festival in 1998 and the Screen Actors Guild Awards of 2004.

Depp confirmed at the L.A. premiere of Public Enemies that he’ll star in an upcoming big screen version of the cult 1960’s show Dark Shadows, directed by Tim Burton.

After a courageous and lengthy battle with cancer, Farrah Fawcett died Thursday morning. She was 62.Her spokesman, Paul Bloch, said she died at 9:28AM at the St. John’s Health Center in Santa Monica, Calif.At the 62-year-old actress’s bedside her longtime partner Ryan O’Neal and actress pal Alana Stewart.Farrah, best known as one of TV’s Charlie’s Angels, was diagnosed with anal cancer back in September 2006.

Michael Jackson Dead at 50

Michael Jackson died on Thursday afternoon (June 25), according to Los Angles Times. He was 50.
Jackson suffered a cardiac arrest and wasn’t breathing when paramedics arrived at his Los Angeles home shortly before 12:30 p.m. Paramedics were unable to revive him and the King of Pop was pronounced dead by doctors after arriving at UCLA Medical Center.
Jackson was the seventh child of the Jackson family. He is survived by three children: Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr., Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince Michael Jackson II.

You will be missed, Michael.

Drew Barrymore wears a funny shark hat to watch the Florida Marlin face off against the New York Yankees at Land Shark Stadium on Sunday (June 21) in Miami, Fla.

The 34-year-old actress also decked out in bright blue tie-dye leggings, purple high-tops and silver face paint. Drew was accompanied by on-and-off-again boyfriend Justin Long, who both happily wore their support for the Marlins on their shirts.
The Marlins held off the Yankees 6-5.

Cameron Diaz is honored with the 2386th star on the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday afternoon (June 22) in front of Hollywood’s Egyptian Theater.
The 36-year-old actress wore a gorgeous ivory embroidered linen dress and red patent leather corset belt fromt he Oscar de la Renta Resort Collection.
Supporting Cam from Hollywood Boulevard was her older sister Chimene (pictured below), Lucy Liu, Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, and directors McG and Danny Boyle.
“It will be cool to be under people’s feet,” the 36-year-old actress told the Hollywood Reporter “It really is the place where people can understand exactly that actors are not really stars - they don’t exist in the sky, they exist on the ground just like everybody else.”

That’s the best opening of Sandy’s career!The Jack Black-Michael Cera comedy Year One opened at No. 4, pulling in $20.2 million. The Hangover and Up! placed 2nd and 3rd, respectively.

Ryan Reynolds gets mobbed by fans as he leaves Late Night with Jimmy Fallon at NBC Studios in New York City on Thursday (June 18).
The 32-year-old actor’s new movie The Proposal is due out in theaters today (June 19). Reynolds also paid a visit to MTV studios on Thursday in New York City and also to David Letterman on Wednesday.
Reynolds is on the cover of the latest issue of EW. When asked to name his Must Video Game, he said, “I don’t really play videogames. Is there a way to waste more f—ing time? The Internet’s enough. The last videogame I played was Ms. Pacman.”
